Taylor’s Tip: Let God Handle Your Concerns
The Lord will perfect that which concerns me. Psalm 138:8
Is your faith is being tested? If you’re struggling in any area of your life, it’s best to assume that it is a test, and give it to Him…right away.
All tests of faith are not major, life altering events. Some of the greatest tests come disguised as nothing more than minor nuisances that we believe we can handle. And, because we’re adults.. Who don’t want to go running to God with every little nit picky thing that comes up. We are inclined to just deal with them. We only petition the Lord for what we believe is “important.”
That is precisely why those small, seemingly innocuous tests do so much damage to our relationship with Christ. God’s Word reveals He wants to perfect us in every area of our lives. When we try to do it on our own, we only get in God’s way and hinder the work of the Holy Spirit.
Then we find ourselves a couple years later with a major issue that would have been squelched had we taken our concerns to Christ:
- Those 5 pounds you wanted to lose turned into 40 ponds you have to lose.
- That guy on your job who was irritating is now making your life unbearable.
- Your fresh mouth preteen has become a disrespectful, rebellious teen who’s taller than you.
- None of the high hopes you had, have come to fruition.
We don’t get to pick and choose where or how the Lord gets involved in our lives. Everything that concerns you, concerns God; your life, your kids, your hopes, your work, your plans – Everything. The Bible says: “Casting all your care upon Him for He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7
That seems pretty clear to me. What do you think?
