Day 9 | A Vital Member
Day 9 | Forty Days with God | 1Corinthians 12:12-27
Our bodies are composed of many different parts, (members) and each one has it’s own function. A hand can’t function independently of the body and neither can an eye. Our bodies are wonderfully and fearfully made by the careful Hand of the Father to function as one superb, beautifully crafted being, all the way down to the last detail. So it is the body of Christ. No one member is more important than another and none should think more highly of themselves than another.
In the same way the members of our bodies have different functions the members of the body of Christ are given different gifts to share and duties to perform in service to the entire body as God sees fit. There should be no jealousy, animosity, backstabbing gossip or any of the other negativity that causes our church to be in disharmony.
God is not a respecter of persons and we would do well to follow His example by giving every member the same amount of love care and respect, regardless of position, money, influence, gift, or – whatever.
Christ is the head, and through baptism by the Holy Spirit we became the members of His body, the Church. One Spirit fills all, sustains all, refreshes and renews all. We are Spirit fed and Spirit led as one body belonging to Christ.
Tomorrow, Day 10, Let your light shine, Ephesians 1: 15-19
