Taylor’s Tip | Be Still
When the Israelites left Egypt carrying all of their worldly possessions, I can just picture them laughing, singing and praising God all the way to the Red Sea. They were finally free from bondage and ready to follow Moses right on into the Promised Land. When they realized the Egyptians were hot on their heels and there was no way out the Israelites were stricken with fear. Some of them fell on their knees and prayed, while others complained and blamed Moses for bringing them out into the wilderness to die.
At some point every believer finds themselves in front of an obstacle they can’t move with an Egyptian or two breathing down their necks. You know you’re on the right course. It’s the one God has called to – You’re following Jesus. You know you’ve been set free, but the Egyptians come anyway!
Fear, worry, past habits, old boyfriends, ex- girlfriends, doubt, rebellious children, a season of lack, illness, guilt… you name it! It’s coming! So what do you do? Be Still.
Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. Exodus 14:13
God didn’t bring you out of bondage to let the enemy destroy you. Be Still.
When you’ve gone as far as you can on your own strength and there’s nothing more you can do – Be Still.
The Lord will fight for you, you need only be still. Exodus 14:14
Be Blessed!
