What God Said
“If you’re not seeing what God said, it’s because you’re not saying what God said. You have to keep saying what God said, until what you see is what God said.” ~ Pastor Zachery Tims
Have you ever paid attention long enough to really listen to what you’re listening to? Have you examined those seemingly random thoughts that flit in and out your mind. Whose voice are really you listening to? You know the enemy never shuts up. He’s always in your head chattering about some foolishness that every believer has already overcome. That’s what he does. He tries to ruin your life by poisoning your mind. But what are you doing about it? You have two choices. Keep listening to what he says about you or about whatever the situation may be or you can listen to what God said. Paul warns us in Romans 12:2 not to be conformed to this world, but to be transformed by renewing our minds so that we may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
So many people (myself included) have wasted months and even years walking around in a cloud of negativity, feeling anxious, defeated, depressed, hurt, angry, condemned etc. The list goes on and on, but this isn’t the life God had in mind for us. According to the Word, God wants to bless us.
In Deut 28: 2-6, God said, “And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God: “Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country. Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, the produce of your ground and the increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks. Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl. Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.”
So how do we obey the voice of the Lord?
By hearing it. By remembering Romans 10:17 “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” By speaking God’s Words so often they seep down into our souls and become embedded in our hearts. We’ve been listening to the enemy’s words long enough. It’s time to let God’s words renew our minds and start living in His will. God has a Word for every arrow the enemy shoots your way. Now we are not expected to memorize the bible, but we are supposed to read it. Searching for the words that speak to you and your unique set of circumstances is a reasonable expectation. And when you find them, SPEAK! Meditate on them and keep speaking them. “He who has an ear, let him hear.”
Start listening to what you’re listening to. Examine it and if it’s not from God, rebuke it and replace it in the mighty, holy and blessed name of Jesus.
When the devil starts talking, talk back!
What’s your strategy? Please share it by leaving a comment. Thanks!
