Get Loosed!
And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up. But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.” And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. Luke 13:11-13
I was watching Bishop TD Jakes the other night. The topic of the sermon was, “Untie my Hands”. I had already missed over half of the program so by the time I tuned in, Bishop was already wound up. But I was able to get the gist of what he was talking about:
It’s time for what ever ties that are binding us to be loosened!
Of course, this got me thinking about the possibility of a post on freeing ourselves from some of the psychological weapons the devil has been using against us since forever, because no matter what age, stage, period or chapter we’re in – most of us need to be loosed (set free, liberated) from SOMETHING!
Anger, Guilt, Insecurity, Depression, Un-forgiveness, Low or No self esteem, Pride… the list goes on.
So what is your infirmity? What has you bent out of shape? The idea of a generic get loosed post somehow evolved into a series of posts dealing with specifics. While I realize the woman in the verse above was suffering from a physical infirmity, Christ is able to effect healing in every area of our lives.
The firt topic in the Get Loosed series will deal with Anger, not because it is in any way more important than any of the others, but I’d already started drafting it. 🙂 Plus, it’s one of the areas I struggle with.
Please let me know which of these (or any) concerns you’d like to see addressed in this series. Leave a comment or email me directly.
Be Blessed!

I would love to be this woman, because my body is confined to a wheelchair, I can feel so closely what this woman must have felt being able to stand straight and tall. Repentance and becoming 'loosed from Satan's binds' can help us stand straight and tall!
Thanks for joining our vB Christian Mom’s Blog Hop! I look forward to reading about your experiences a Christian Mom!
Happy Wednesday,
Becky Jane
