7 Easy Morning Rituals For Healing and Transformation
“When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love.”
~ Marcus Arelius ~
Morning rituals can set you up to feel calm, refreshed, loved, and empowered.
Mornings are sacred. They signal the beginning of a fresh, new day full of potential and promise. For me, every day begins with what I call my ‘morning peace time.’ I get up early, make coffee and sit with Spirit for at least an hour. Sometimes we have a conversation, and sometimes we just sit quietly enjoying the rhythm and flow of the love we share for each other.
What does the beginning of your day look like? Do you hop out of bed and hit the ground running? Check your cell phone? Do you mentally go over your to-do list? Or do you take the time to focus your thoughts and connect with your intuition – the Divine in you?
The first things you do when you wake up in the morning set the energetic tone for the rest of your day. Consider incorporating some rituals at the start of your day that will bring the healing and transformation you desire.
Research shows that habits, like morning routines, set you up for success. An intentional morning routine can add a little magic to your day.
“Give every day the chance to become the most beautiful day of your life.”
~ Mark Twain ~
How to integrate rituals into your morning routine
Everyone is different and there is no right or wrong way to start your day, because indeed – it is YOUR day. But if healing your wounds and transforming your life is a goal, take some time to think about the person you want to become. Envision the transformation your rituals will help you accomplish. Faith in your ability to have what you desire will help you put in the work that will make it so.
Be creative. The activity you choose isn’t important and you don’t have to get up an hour early or spend a lot of time on your ritual. Ten minutes a day can change your life. You can even turn a routine task that you already perform into a powerful healing ritual. What’s important here is the mindfulness of your intentions.
Easy morning rituals for healing and transformation:
- Express Gratitude
Reflect on what you are grateful for, then Give Thanks. The positive influence that feeling gratitude can have in almost every area of our lives is well documented, from lowering stress and calming our heart rate to helping us connect to other people and improving our mental outlook. Even doing something as small as writing down 3 things you’re grateful for, every day for 21 days will make you happier, healthier and more productive. - Cleansing
Your morning shower can become a sacred ritual cleansing by mindfully focusing your thoughts. Become aware of your breathing. Inhale and exhale deeply a few times, then turn your attention to the water as it falls on your body. Close your eyes, breathe deeply into your heart center as you remember the warm wonderful water is not only removing any physical debris. It is also cleansing and removing negative energy from your emotions, your mind, and your soul. - Use Affirmations
Affirmations can be very effective and empowering by helping you clearly articulate your intentions and inspiring you to become the woman you want to be. Choose one to three positive/healing intentions to focus on. Write them down and repeat them as often as you can throughout the day. Here are a few examples to get you started.I am an infinite and abundant expression of love.
I am willing to be at peace with my past.
Every day in every way, I get better and better and better.
I am healing gently. - Visualize
Visualization is a powerful technique that helps to prepare your mind and body for what you want to happen. Imagine yourself being, doing, or having whatever it is you truly desire as if it were true Today. Become completely absorbed and use all of your senses. What does it look like? How does it feel? What sounds do you hear? Does the smell excite you? How does it taste - Journaling/Note Taking
Getting your thoughts out of your head and onto paper can help you set your intention for the day. Use this time to reflect on the past, appreciate the present, and decide how you want your day to look and feel. - Drink a glass of water.
Overnight, our bodies go eight hours without hydration. Start your morning by waking up your senses and rehydrating with a nice, refreshing glass of water. - Move your body.
One of the best things you can integrate into your morning routine is movement. Going for a walk or hitting the gym can wake you up and give you energy. The movement will also help release mood-boosting endorphins.
Your morning routine is your gift to yourself. It should be your time to reflect, energize and reset.
Above all, avoid giving yourself unnecessary pressure if life occasionally gets in the way of you completing your morning rituals. It’s okay. Use it as an opportunity to bless yourself by practicing self-forgiveness. You’ll get another chance tomorrow.
